Centigen is a social enterprise subsidiary of Two Rivers Housing, set up in January 2014 to make sure future generations continue to have the chance to rent homes at prices they can afford.

The facilities management company has three main aims:

  1. To deliver professional, high quality services to its customers.
  2. To create employment and training opportunities.
  3. To save money for Two Rivers and generate new sources of income that are gifted back to the housing charity, to enable it to continue its work.

Centigen Facilities Management was born of the need for Two Rivers to make savings and attract fresh funding for its programme of building and improvements in the face of increasing pressure on budgets and a dwindling number of Government grants.

The result was a new business, offering a portfolio of services that complements and extends existing Two Rivers’ capability and skills, and delivering a more cost-effective alternative to services procured from third party suppliers or contractors, such as cleaning, estate maintenance and much more.

We are also delighted that Two Rivers tenants are among Centigen’s employees.

All the surplus profit generated by Centigen is gifted to Two Rivers, helping to support the housing association’s work for the future.
